The H2 is the follow up model of the very successful Zoom H4, and has
proven to be a very versatile recorder for both business and pleasure
pursuits. The H2 effortlessly records in high quality stereo when
capturing musical performances, no matter what kind of instrument or
music is being played, allowing you to record at musical performances,
song writing sessions or rehearsals alike.
The H2 digital recorder allows you to play your recordings on your
home audio system with its 1/8" stereo output, or listen to your
masterpiece with the aid of some headphones. Furthermore the H2 has a
USB interface to enable you to move your recordings to your Mac or PC
in order to listen to, edit and share your recordings.
Physically the H2 is very compact and light, weighing only 4ounces.
This portable recorder fits into a pocket, making it practical and
convenient to take with you, whilst still producing incredible sound
with the greatest of ease. The H2 has a reputation as a user-friendly
product because it only requires you to push one button to start
recording. It also has gain controls on the side of the H2 body, and an
intuitive user interface so that you never have to miss a moment!
The H2 is the only portable sound recorder with 3 microphone
capsules for mid-side recording. It has a directional microphone in the
centre, and two further directional microphones that are positioned on
the left and on the right of the device. The H2 instantly decodes the
audio, and brings the three signals together, which produces the
unparalleled stereo imaging that the H2 is famous for! The remarkable
capabilities of this reliable digital recorder do not stop there, the
H2 can record front to rear, and at 90° or 120° in up to 96 kHz/24-bit
WAV format, as MP3 up to 320 kbps. Additionally, you can record 360° in
48kHz/24-bit format which will allow you convert your recordings to
Surround 5.1.
The H2 records on Secure Digital (SD) media and a 1GB SD card is
included with the device. A 4GB SD memory card for the H2 can however
provide up to 2 hours recording at 96kHz, 6 hours at 44.1kHz, or up to
a staggering 138 hours in MP3. Your recordings can be stored on a PC or
Mac with its USB 2.0 interface, and you can use the time stamping
function for reference during the production of your recordings. The
built in USB 2.0 interface means you can even use the H2 as a USB
microphone, and record directly to your favourite digital audio
software!
Zoom also incorporated Auto Start and Auto Gain Control functions
into the H2 design, to ensure complete capture, at the right level.
Furthermore there are gain control buttons on the front panel of the H2
in the event that you need to fine-tune the levels to ensure you get
the best audio results possible from your H2.
The H2 comes with a microphone clip adapter, tripod stand, USB
cable, an AC adapter and a 512MB SD card. The H2 can be operated
continuously for a period of 4 hours on one set of alkaline AA
batteries.
